Canvassing
As a production for the benefit of the high school, the student body is responsible for the sale and distribution of tickets. The advantages of “no sales commissions” and “a friendly selling situation” maximizes the revenue potential for the school.
A student body (freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors) can effectively canvas an entire community in short order. Typically, students are given a certain number of “Advance Tickets” to sell. To illustrate with round numbers, if 1000 students sell an average of 5 tickets each, they would insure 5,000 patrons would attend their school production before the first rehearsal.

Four weeks prior to the opening of the “Musical Play,” radio stations in the greater metropolitan area are approached with an offer to interview the author and debate the merits of “It's Not About Love.”
The subject is compelling though controversial. After a lively debate, explanation always leads to understanding and the audience acquiring a new view.
Incentives
Several complimentary tickets are made available to the radio stations to serve as prizes for their listeners.
Advance Tickets
Advance Tickets generate revenue early in the production process to help offset expenses. Those who purchase a ticket in advance are likely to mention the event to their family, friends, coworkers and neighbors. In other words, Advance Tickets help to generate more ticket sales.
Free access to the music
People enjoy a theatrical production more when they are familiar with the music. The songs are available for free for listening and download from this website.
Analysis
The best advertisement is an audience that is impressed and overjoyed.
Note: Word-of-mouth promotion is the most powerful form of advertisement.
Audiences that are pleased will create a buzz that will generate more ticket sales.
